YMCA Youth Sports Philosophy
The goals and objectives of the YMCA youth sports program are based upon a philosophy of nine concepts:

1. Participation - Everyone plays!
2. Fun - We play to have fun!
3. Fitness - Regular exercise is important for a lifetime!
4. Skills - We learn basic fundamentals that help us play the game.
5. Teamwork - We focus on cooperation, not competition!
6. Fair play - We respect all involved, other players, coaches, parents and officials
7. Family Involvement - Youth sports is a family program. Parents and kids learn and practice together.
8. Volunteers - They are the key to a successful program.
9. Character Development - Emphasis on Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

Youth League Basketball
Program provides hundreds of participatns with non-stop, fast-paced action! Teams focus on the fundamentals of basketball emphasizing; Team play, dribbling, shooting skills, passing and defense. Most of all we emphasize the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility building not only basketball skills but life skills. Join hundresd of other area youth in the only league of its kind in our area! All skill levels welcome.

Indoor Soccer
YMCA Soccer stresses fair play, skill development, teamwork and hav ing fun. This fast paced and exciting sport of soccer allows your child the opportunity to develop fundamental soccer skills as well as pormote positive character development. Good sportsmanship, a positive attitude and shin guards are required for play in this youth league.

Arena League Football
Want to play football without worrying about tackling, heavy gear, or the weather? Then try Arena League Flag Football! Even if you've never played football before, you can learn like the pros. Boys and girls grades 1st - 6th will enjoy playing in this fast paced fun program that promotes fitness and teaches youngsters valuable football lessons about teamwork and fair play. This league is traditional 5x5 flag football that teaches the basic skills of football; running, receiving, and defending.

Coaches Pitch
This program is ideal for those young baseball enthusiasts who want to learn the game of baseball. This league is designed to teach youth how to hit the ball and gain confidence without the use of a tee. The game is played just like regular baseball except the coach does the pitching. (A tee will be provided for those youth who need additional assistance).

Financial Assistance Statement:
The YMCA's policy is that no person will be turned away because of lack of funds. If you know of anyone who would benefit from a YMCA membership or program, but does not have the needed funds, please contact our professional staff. Financial assistance and scholarships are obtained through a simple and confidential application process. Financial Assistance available for both programs
