Health and Wellness Director - part time 30-35hrs/wk

General Function:
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Fitness Director will be responsible for establishing program growth, development, retention and innovation to the fitness department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field is preferred.
Leadership, teaching and administrative experience in Wellness, Nutrition, Group Exercise, and other related areas.
Experience in supervising and training staff.
Experience with budget and program administration.
Working knowledge of computer software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel).
Complete within 30 days of hire: Child Abuse Prevention Training; CPR; First Aid
Principles of YMCA Health and Fitness and YMCA Group Exercise Instructor certifications are required within the first year.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 
A.Direct Supervision of all group fitness instructors/classes
 
Ensure a welcoming atmosphere in all group exercise classes
Ensure all customer service initiatives are in place
Develop/establish communication with participants to ensure needs and expectations are being met
Stay in tune with the changing fitness climate – program innovation, development, scheduling etc.
Maintain, inventory equipment needs and assessment
 
B.Direct Supervision of Personal Training Department
•Staffing
•Scheduling 
•Training (ensure certification of staff)
•Evaluation of staff and process
•Equipment Orientations
•Lower Level Supervision
•Youth Fitness orientations
 
C.Direct Supervision of Silver Sneaker Program
•Staffing

D.Oversee community and specialized fitness related programming need:
•Senior programming
•Youth programming (Catch, Home School PE, Youth Fitness etc.)
•Community Health Fairs and committees 
 
E. Additional Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:
•Special Events: Triathlon/Duathlon, Spring 5K race, Healthy Kids Day
•CPR certified trainer - provide training to YMCA staff on a rotational basis
•Provide Support to YMCA events
•Provide support to YMCA Annual Campaign 
•Provide Leadership in the overall strategic direction and planning for the YMCA
•Attend monthly board meetings
•Attend weekly staff meetings with YMCA leadership team
•Attain necessary training and certifications as they pertain to this position
•Will be part of weekend coverage rotation with other directors
•One weeknight coverage as director duty 
•Direct supervisor of building supervisors
•Membership Growth and Retention
•Other Duties as assigned

School Age Site Coordinator

Responsibile for an off site before and after school program. 
Responsible for lesson plans, helping children with homework, USDA Food program responsibilities. Building relationships with School Teachers and administrators. Activity planning.
